Százhalombatta Excavation Project

Project overview

The Bronze Age site of Százhalombatta is situated on the right bank of the Danube, 30km south of Budapest in Hungary. It is one of the largest temperate tell settlements from this period in Central Europe.

Excavation at the site, directed by Dr Magdolna Vicze (Hungarian National Museum), Professor Marie Louise Stig S?rensen (University of Cambridge), and Professor Joanna Sofaer (University of 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载), is ongoing. Investigations are producing substantial new data revealing a detailed and hitherto unknown picture of Bronze Age life from 2000-1400BC.
