Since 2011 the Carbon Management fund has supported the Student Switch-Off, an annual competition between students in Halls of Residence which encourages more energy efficient behaviour. The event includes photo competitions, student Switch-Off Ambassador training, a climate change quiz and a competition between halls which challenges students?to save the most energy.

The annual event typically results in a saving of 17,000kWh, ?1700 and 9 tonnes/CO ₂ .
