The electrical consumption of lighting is a significant factor in determining the overall electrical consumption of a building. This project replaced the existing lights in Building 37 with LEDs. The new units have much longer operational lives and consume a fraction of the electricity consumed by equivalent halogen lightbulbs.

This project resulted in an annual saving of 65,000kWh, ?7,000 and 35 tonnes/CO ₂ .
