Project overview
The purpose of this application is to request funding to develop and deliver a EULAR module on intervention development, that has application to clinicians and academics in rheumatology.
This has direct relevance to EULAR's overall mission to "minimise the impact of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) on individuals and societies". The module will provide attendees with the evidence-based and fundamental knowledge with which to design and evaluate health-related interventions in both controlled and real-world situations (e.g., clinical and community).
Methodologically sound intervention development is important because it increases the likelihood of interventions being effective, cost-effective, and sustainably implemented in routine care. The importance of methodological rigour in intervention development has been recognised (Skivington et al. 2021) and developing interventions that do not impact on real-world healthcare, because they are never implemented, leads to research waste (Chalmers et al. 2014). This module has potential to impact the clinical and academic workforce across Europe supporting people with RMDs.
The module will help foster professional and patient education in intervention development, implementation and evaluation, drawing upon the existing EU Horizon funded project SQUEEZE (https://squeeze-project.eu/) and in-line with the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) Framework (Skivington et al. 2021). 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 Project Team possesses a wealth of experience in developing, delivering and managing education modules in their respective European institutions, as well as within EULAR.
In-line with the EULAR 2024-2028 Strategy, we can demonstrate that our module will be developed based upon patient-centredness, innovation, inclusivity (for both clinicians and researchers), and impact our members' personal and professional development.
