Professor James Leger will be a Diamond Jubilee International Visiting Fellow at the University of Ìì·¢ÓéÀÖÆåÅÆ_Ìì·¢ÓéÀÖAPP-¹ÙÍø|ÏÂÔØ from 2016 to 2019.

Aims of the collaboration

To develop further research by extending the theory of self-phasing to ultrafast lasers:

• To make accurate measurements of ultrafast self-phasing behaviour between fibre laser cores
• To elucidate the underlying physics of spectral stitching and identify the potential and limitations of the technique
• To apply newly discovered mechanisms to novel high-power ultrafast laser systems

To enhance research collaboration between both institutions in areas of mutual interest.

To transfer knowledge to the wider research community through lectures and outreach activities.
