Aims of the collaboration

  • To develop expertise and increased research into theories appropriate to describe and predict surface instabilities in multi-layer structures, such as biological membranes and engineering thin film systems.
  • To propose novel theories and computational techniques based on peridynamics theory and its variants
  • To explore the role of material anistotropy on wrinkling instabilities with particular focus on multi-layered biological structures
  • To establish an international network of researchers in these topics.
