This well-equipped section has provision for large capacity and precision machining as well as horizontal boring. We have a welding facility that uses the tungsten inert gas technique to weld aluminium and stainless steel to ultra high vacuum standards.
We specialise in the manufacture of equipment that is not commercially available, for both teaching and research.
The workshop?has experience and expertise in making chemical research apparatus including:
- photo electron spectrometers
- vacuum systems
- pressure vessels
- gloveboxes
- electro-chemical cells
We have worked?with other universities both within and outside the UK, and with commercial organisations.
