All staff must have their appraisals in the fifteen-week period between 1 June and 15 September.
Before the appraisal conversation:
- Ensure an appraisal meeting has been booked with your manager.
- Make sure that your objectives for 2024-25 are recorded in your 2024-25 appraisal form in readiness for the appraisal discussion.
- Prepare for the appraisal meeting by reflecting back on your achievements and challenges over the last year and think about your priorities and objectives for the coming year.
- A wide range of training and resources are available to support all staff through the appraisal window. Have a look at the recent SUSSED post for more information.
During the appraisal conversation:
- Discuss your progress with objectives, your achievements, areas for development and your career aspirations.
- Use the 2024-25 online form in MyView to record a summary of the discussion.
- Use the Contribution descriptors to provide an overall summary of an individual’s contribution.
- Discuss and agree new objectives for the coming year.
After the appraisal conversation:
- Once the appraisal has been submitted by the appraiser, a “consistency check”, will be carried out by the appraiser’s line manager (known as the Second Line Reviewer) to ensure fairness and consistency. This will need to be completed by 15 October each year.
- Add your new objectives to the 2025-26 online form in MyView, and save but do not submit.
