International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia 2025

Join the School of Electronics and Computer Science in marking International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) by raising the Progress Pride Flag at Jubilee Plaza on Tuesday, 13 May 2025 from 9:30. All staff and students are welcome to join in raising the flag.

Dorota A. Sikorska, the Operations Manager in the School of Electronics and Computer Science, who has been organising the event annually since 2018 remarks:

IDAHOBIT is such an important event which stands as a powerful reminder of the importance of solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community, uniting staff and students across the University. It reaffirms our unwavering commitment to equity, dignity, and respect for all members of our University community. Together, we strive to create an environment where every individual can live authentically, free from fear, discrimination, and oppression based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. Today, and every day, we proudly stand together for inclusion, equity, and human rights
