7 May car parking update: further suspension of daily charging until 12 May

Following the temporary suspension of car parking charges in February, we have been working with the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) supplier, APCOA, for their technical fix of issues which surfaced when we reintroduced paid parking.

Following APCOA’s completion of additional tests we were provided with assurances that the system was ready again for go-live. Disappointingly another issue was discovered on Tuesday 6 May, where colleagues were unable to register attendance within some car parks.

We have therefore taken the decision to suspend parking charges again for all car parks until Monday 12 May.

We have escalated this as a matter of urgency for APCOA, who are working hard to address this issue, and have indicated to us that they will resolve it later this week.

We understand how confusing this has been for colleagues, and apologise for any frustrations caused. Please do remain patient with our Parking team whilst we await a resolution from APCOA.

Please note that you must still be a registered user to park on our campuses. Whilst daily fees have been paused, enforcement is still taking place for violations such as parking outside a designated bay.
