Professor Nicky Marsh appointed to AHRC Advisory Board

We’re very pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Nicky Marsh to the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Advisory Board.

The AHRC Advisory Board provides critical insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the sector and supports the development of strategic partnerships. It includes members from higher education, the creative industries, cultural institutions, and beyond.

Nicky, who is also co-director of the 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 Institute for Arts and Humanities, said:?“This is a fantastic opportunity to return some of the support that the AHRC has given me! AHRC funding has allowed me to develop a broad range of research practices and collaborations. This funding facilitated the Show the Money exhibition, the History of Financial Advice project as well as the recent And Towns projects on pride, culture and place.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to work closely with the AHRC as well, through a ‘Where Next?’ scoping project in 2021 and through the AHRC Place Programme in 2022-23. I feel excited and privileged to do more of this work as part of the Advisory Board.”

Professor Miguel Mera, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, shared his congratulations:?“I am thrilled that Nicky has been appointed to the AHRC Advisory Board. This prestigious position is testament to her vast expertise, particularly her passionate advocacy for Arts and Humanities research. Her outstanding work in fostering innovative partnerships through the 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 Institute for Arts and Humanities (SIAH) will now contribute invaluable insights to national strategy and policy.”

In his announcement of the new board members, Dr Jaideep Gupte, AHRC Director of Research, Strategy and Innovation said: “We look forward to benefiting from the network, strategic vision, and passion they each bring to AHRC. Their participation will help shape bold, forward-thinking grant opportunities and represent the interests of our community. With their guidance, AHRC will continue to advance the transformative power of arts and humanities research, ensuring we remain a vital catalyst for cultural discourse, innovation, and societal impact.”
