Professor Fraser Sturt has been appointed the new Director of 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 Marine and Maritime Institute (SMMI), succeeding? Professor Damon Teagle who has led the Institute for the past 8 years. SMMI serves as a gateway connecting marine and maritime industries, policy makers and other groups to research, innovation, and education across the University. Fraser has been SMMI’s Deputy Director for the last seven years.

Professor Mark Spearing, Vice-President (Research and Enterprise), commented: “I am very pleased that Fraser has agreed to take on the Directorship of SMMI. The appointment panel was impressed by his vision for the Institute and his deep commitment and track record in interdisciplinary research. We feel that he will be a very effective leader. I would like to thank Professor Damon Teagle, and Professor Susan Gourvenec. With Fraser they have provided excellent, sustained leadership of SMMI.”
