This thought provoking and inspiring conference will provide you with the opportunity to learn and engage in discussion about global politics from academics of international distinction.

We live in a globalizing world and that fact has implications for our forms of democratic governance, but it is also the case that processes of globalization are shaped by the policies and practices of democratic (and non-democratic) actors.

This study day addresses this two-way relationship between democracy and globalization focusing on national, regional and transnational context in order to explore the transformation of democratic rule in states but also the extension of democratic practices and forms of rule beyond the state.
