Dear colleagues,
Programme closures, School of Education
Following extensive consideration? the University’s governing Council yesterday endorsed the proposal for a phased withdrawal from two academic sports programmes and two foundation degree programmes in the School of Education?– BSc (Hons) Sport Studies; BA (Hons) Managing and Developing Sport; Working With Children FdA (Foundation Degree) and Youth Work FdA (Foundation Degree).
This decision was not taken for financial reasons. The University continually reviews its course provision to ensure a positive fit with our strategic direction and position as a leading international research university. However? the decision to close courses is never taken lightly.
The staff and students concerned have already been informed of this decision. We understand this will be an unsettling time for them and we are committed to ensuring continued educational quality for the students enrolled on these courses.
